Teaching Assistantships
IAD graduate students are eligible for teaching assistantships in the various departments in their fields of specialization. Teaching assistantships are available for up to 50% employment on a 9-month basis. They are usually allocated for one academic quarter.
For openings, see: http://gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/TARA/tara1.htm.
Research Assistantships
Research assistantships may be available on a competitive basis through individual departments. Amounts and duration of RAships vary. Some IAD graduate students find part-time, hourly employment on projects where RAships are not available.
For openings, see: http://gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/TARA/tara1.htm.
Internship and Career Center
Graduate students may work as volunteers in the Internship and Career Center in South Hall to provide assistance to students seeking jobs related to development, both domestic and international. The volunteer also requests information from, and keeps an updated file on, employment firms that may be of interest and regularly posts new jobs and internship opportunity listings. Workshops specifically geared to IAD students are periodically given on resume writing and job-search techniques. Job opportunities and workshops are regularly announced via email and on the Internship and Career Center web site at: http://icc.ucdavis.edu.
