Timeline for MS I & MS II Plans of Study

PLAN I

  1. Meet Major Professor
  2. Meet Graduate Advisor
  3. Develop and Obtain Approval of Study Program During 2nd Quarter
  4. Explore thesis research topics with Major Professor prior to completion of the third quarter of coursework.
  5. File application for candidacy with Graduate Studies at the beginning of quarter preceding final quarter. (See Grad Studies Calendar for deadlines.)
  6. Make appointment with Graduate Studies to file thesis. Information on thesis format and forms to be submitted is available at http://gradstudies.ucdavis.edu/students/degree_candidates.html
  7. File copies of thesis with Graduate Studies, Major Professor, and IAD Office.
  8. Check out with the Graduate Group Assistant

PLAN II

  1. Meet Major Professor
  2. Meet Graduate Advisor
  3. Develop and Obtain Approval of Study Program During 2nd Quarter
  4. Select Examination Committee during last quarter of course program.
  5. Check with Graduate Advisor for approval of Committee, setting of dates, etc., at least six weeks before proposed exam date.
  6. One month before exam, check with IAD Graduate Group Assistant and give her dates, times, and committee membership; visit with exam committee members for preparation.
  7. File application for candidacy with Graduate Studies at beginning of quarter preceding final quarter. (See Grad Studies Calendar for deadlines.)
  8. Take examination.
  9. Check out with the Graduate Group Assistant and submit an Exit Survey.
