Nyah is from Oceanside, California and has also lived in Massachusetts, Idaho, and Germany. Nyah completed an B.S. in IAD and Spanish at UC Davis and will continue her IAD education here. During her undergraduate time she traveled to Colombia to study and work with cacao which grew to be her dominating interest. She also spent time working on the university’s student farm, ecological garden, greenhouses, and vertical farm, gaining a diverse understanding of agriculture systems and UC Davis’ advanced engagement in this field of study. Nyah also served as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Amanda Crump’s Agriculture Equity Lab, allowing her experiences in research, publications, and opportunities at the graduate level. Similarly, she has also worked with the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture, engaging with global projects. In her graduate research, Nyah will continue studying cacao in South and Central America, and hopes to develop equitable technologies that will promote more even cacao success amongst smallholder farmers in these regions.

Outside of her studies Nyah loves to do anything outdoors but camping, snowboarding, and surfing are her favorites. She also loves to cook and travel. She looks forward to furthering her education at UC Davis.
