Bio

Ugo is a first-year master's student in International and Development Studies (IAD), committed to exploring the intersections of climate justice, gender and youth equity, and Indigenous rights crucial in addressing ongoing global ecological crises. With a B.A. in Anthropology focused on environmental justice and food sovereignty among BIPOC communities.
Ugo strives to unearth the systemic connections between social inequalities and ecological degradation. As an artist, storyteller, and digital archivist, she aims to document and elevate the narratives of Black farmers, highlighting their vital roles in the fight against environmental injustice. Ugo’s work exemplifies ecofeminist principles, advocating for inclusive and equitable adaptation strategies that recognize the importance of diverse voices in shaping sustainable futures. Through her research and creative endeavors, she seeks to foster solidarity and inspire action towards a just and resilient world.
