My name is Sooyoung CHOI, and I am from South Korea. I studied Horticultural Science with a double major in Sociology at Kyungpook National University. With this diverse academic background, I aspire to continue my studies and build a career in sustainable agricultural development.
Outside of school, I have been actively involved with organizations such as the Korean Red Cross. Growing up in South Korea, I have witnessed the country's tumultuous historical background and rapid development. These experiences have shaped my perspective on development cooperation, emphasizing the importance of reducing disparities and pursuing sustainability.
After graduation, I spent a year at the KOICA Uganda office, participating in ODA projects and gaining practical experience. This experience solidified my determination to pursue a career in sustainable development. Before starting my master's program, I also worked at a consulting firm, exploring evaluation, project identification, and formulation. My research interests include agricultural extension, community engagement, horticultural crops, value chain, and sustainable development.
In my free time, I enjoy painting and had the privilege of holding my first exhibition in 2024. I am particularly fond of abstract art and enjoy appreciating various works of art.
